Every reason (Danny Hooper)
As a married man and a
solo performer I found Lea to be very uneasy and quite
concerned that I was out
there on my own singing to all these women who can tend
to get a little flirty
sometimes and, of course, as a performer I tend to play along.
Lea’s very good at showing her feelings and
she let me know quite strongly how
she felt about the issue.
I wrote Every reason to
try and put her mind at
ease about our relationship. I
wanted
her to know I am here for the long haul and that I have every reason
for
hanging around.
Baby it’s plain to see You’ve
lost a little faith in me It hurts me to know you’re feelin’
that way I just wanna reassure The love that I’m
feelin’ is pure My whole life’s standin’ right in front of me
And what I’m sayin’ is Everything
I say is true; I would never lie to you The love that I’m
feelin’ ain’t goin’ away Look into my eyes and see everything
you mean to me There’s absolutely every damn reason to stay
You’re thinkin’ I’m goin’ astray
You’re thinkin’ I’m slippin’ away But you’re the only one, my
love affair About a hundred years from now I’ll
still be hangin’ around The place I’m goin’ is nowhere I’m
tellin’ you Everything I say
is true; I would never lie to you The love that I’m feelin’
ain’t goin’ away Look into my eyes and see everything you
mean to me There’s absolutely every damn reason to stay
